The 33 member Ohio Senate is currently controlled by the Republicans, holding 23 seats, with the Senate Democrats holding 9 seats. In the 99 member Ohio House, Republicans hold 66 seats, and the Democrats hold 33 seats. John Kasich serves as the 69th Governor of Ohio, he is a member of the Republican Party. 2017 marks the second regular session of the 132nd Ohio General Assembly.
