The Minnesota State Legislature is a bicameral legislature, meeting annually in Saint Paul, Minnesota, for a session lasting no more than 120 days per biennium. The Minnesota State Legislature consists of an upper chamber, the Senate, and a lower chamber, the House of Representatives. The 67 member Minnesota Senate is currently controlled by the Republicans, holding 34 seats, with the Senate Democrats holding 32 seats. One Senate seat remains vacant. In the 134 member Minnesota House of Representatives, Republicans hold 76 seats, and the Democrats hold 57 seats. One House seat remains vacant.
