The 38 member Michigan Senate is currently controlled by the Republicans, holding 27 seats, with the Senate Democrats holding 11 seats. In the 110 member Michigan House, Republicans hold 63 seats, and the Democrats hold 47 seats. Rick Snyder serves as the 48th Governor of Michigan, he is a member of the Republican Party. 2017 marks the 99th Michigan Legislative Session.
